One of my favorite Power Rangers Dino Super charge toys is the Zords. The Zords are always one of the most exciting parts of the show, especially when they transform into Dino Megazord. Naturally, after seeing this on TV all the time, I had to get my own. Here’s my review of the Zords and Megazord and where you can get your own.
Dino Charge Megazord
First, we’ll start with the big guy, the Power Rangers Dino Charge Megazord toy. The difference between the Dino Charge megazord and the regular Power Rangers Megazord is that they are made of different Zords. I’ll explain below in the Zords section as its seems better to talk about it there.
This is the Megazord from Dino Charge. It comes with 3 Zords: the T-Rex Zord, Stego Zord, and Tricera Zord. The T-Rex transforms into the main body, head and legs. The Pink Ranger’s Tricera Zord forms the left arm, and the Blue Ranger’s Stego Zord forms the right arm.
This Megazord can be combined with other Zord builders to transorm into other formations, but they sell those separately.
Ptera Charge Megazord
The cool thing about Pterodactyls is that they can fly! The gold ranger uses this advantage to summon the Ptera Charge Megazord, which can attack from above. There are two of these, the gold and black one:
And the limited edition red one:
Titano Charge Megazord
This is another form of Megazord you can buy. It looks a lot different from the other Megazords as this one is mostly silver and gold. I’ll post more soon about it. For now, you can check it out here. Like the others, you can combine these with other Zord builders.
You can see it in action here:
Legendary Zord Set
This one set is really nice. It comes with 4 legendary Zords: T-Rex, Sabertooth, Mastodon, and Triceratops. They also come with 4 inch tall action figures of the Power Rangers themselves to ride on the Zords. The T-Rex can shoot out discs from its mouth. The Mastodon swipes with its trunks. The Sabertooth Tiger has a sword. The Triceratops shoots gold missiles from his head.
Individual Dino Charge Zords
The Power Rangers Dino Charge Zords toys are different from regular Zords because of the different animals/dinosaurs they represent.
The Red Ranger has a T-Rex Zord in Dino Charge, but that’s the same as on the regular show. The Blue Ranger’s Zord is based on a Stegosaurus and is called the Stego Zord. The Pink Rangers Zord is based on the Triceratops and is called the Tricera Zord. The Gold Ranger’s Zord is based on the Pterodactyl and is called the Ptera Zord. They spell it with an “a” instead of an “o” for some reason. The Green Ranger’s Zord is based on the Velociraptor and is called the Raptor Zord. The Black Ranger’s Zord is based on the Parasaurolophus and is called the Para Zord.
There are other Power Rangers Dino Charge Zords, but those are the ones that come with this toy set, the Dino Zord Mega Pack.
Here’s a really cool article on the Stegosaurus controversy about their plates: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/the-stegosaurus-plate-controversy/
